"Not-So-Scary" Halloween Giveaway

You Can Make This was made for me!! I love the idea of making cool crafts for my kids, just like my mom used to do for me. However, I am not as sewing inclined as one would say, honestly I down right SUCK! It seemed like my mom could have an idea for a sewing project and Presto! we had a new stuffed animal or a new dress. She may have had a You Can Make This type secret place she could go to, but I wouldn't know. This website is wonderful, you can search an idea and find many projects you could do or scroll through their different categories to find something you like. They have crocheting, quilting, stitchery to doll making, pillow, handbags and more! Once you find the creation you want to make you buy it, some are free others are anywhere from $4.95 to $7.99 and I even saw a few at $19.99 or more, then download the instructions as a PDF. Easy peezy!

I was sent the Fancy Filled Tutu to review.

The Pumpkin Tutu from their website:

I will be honest with you, it took me about 5 times reading through the directions to get the idea of what I was doing. Like I said I am inadequate in sewing ANYTHING! A lot of the terms did not make sense to and still don't. However the directions come with pictures and I may not understand what I am reading, but I can understand the photos. I would suggest a glossary of terms to go along with the instructions. It would help the people who are scared of the sewing machine to know what they are reading. I will say I now have the idea of what I am doing. The best part of this "How To Guide" is the suggestions at the end of colors and fillings. Again, I am not creative (do I need to keep reminding you or do you got it?). They give me different tutu "Recipes," with colors and filling ideas. For instance for the 4 seasons, or a certain flower like roses, even favorite team tutus...you better watch it Kayla may be wearing a Duke tutu come March Madness! Even holidays, of course Halloween, the costume wearing day, but even holidays like New Years, Christmas, and July 4th. I think it would be the cutest to make a Christmas photo with a tutu that you made for specially for her.

Other than the terms, I would have to say this is a great sewing project to make for your special little girl...or you even you if you change the measurements. Even more, I love how this website was created, I feel, for mom's like me who are not that gifted and may not have the time for classes to learn. I don't need to learn all there is about sewing when all I want to make is a tutu.

I have not made one yet due to the time sensitivity of the giveaway, but hopefully will before the contest is over. I do not have a sewing machine of my own, but my mom does. And since I have not sewn anything since 8th grade Home Ec, I will probably wait until she has time to help me, just in case. Once I do make one I will update and share the photos with you.

You could buy the instructions of this adorable tutu at You Can Make This for $7.99.

I don't know how to sew really my Grandma always said she'd never teach me as I lack patience. But I'd really love to give my hand at the Charmy Euro Jumper, that patchwork jumper is just too cute!
